SXSW Exhibitor Lineup Features Cutting Edge Tech Company Display by ShowBox Exhibits

Objectives Achieved

  • Build a 20×30 exhibit space with a portable floor from scratch
  • Produce a technology-forward booth design

At South By Southwest in Austin, technology and bright ideas are the name of the game. So it’s no wonder why a company like Acision, a mobile services provider of messaging solutions, looked to ShowBox to create a memorable exhibit experience at the world-famous event.

Nearly every element of the exhibit was custom-made by ShowBox Exhibits including oversized geometric cut-outs and eye-catching flooring. Designing a large 20×30 portable floor posed the biggest challenge.

By employing shiny white vinyl, ShowBox was able to create a striking “floorscape” that could easily be re-packaged and shipped. The floor broke down into two large pieces that could be rolled up for portability. Beneath the flooring, ShowBox installed custom wiring and channels used to power the interactive display of tablets and phones. Three flat-screen monitors were mounted on the outer wall of an oval-shaped mini conference room to round out the “techy-gamer” motif. A vintage Pac-Man video game, an iconic symbol of 80’s technology, served as an accent piece and a reminder of the great leaps made in technology since that point in time.

This was one of our more unique projects. It was a cutting edge booth for an innovative company. The client came to us with a 20×20 island design at hand and we executed using almost all custom-made components.
